VectorCraft
Build clean artwork from editable shapes. Start with a geometric badge made from a square and a circle.
The workspace opens in a new tab so you can keep these directions beside it. Use a laptop or desktop with a mouse or trackpad. The editor has a large first download, about 79 MB before server compression.
Keep an editable copy. Save a .vectorcraft project to your device before closing the tab. No account is needed. There is no classroom submission or cloud-save service here. A screenshot is useful for sharing, but does not preserve editable shapes.

Make a geometric badge
Your goal: make a square badge with a smaller circle inside. Keep the circle round and leave a clear border on all four sides.
- Start a blank page.
Open VectorCraft and choose the blank Letter preset on the welcome screen. The white page is your artboard. The badge can sit in its middle; it does not need to fill the page.
- Draw the outer square.
Press M for the Rectangle tool, or choose the rectangle icon in the left toolbar. Hold Shift while dragging on the white page. Release the mouse before releasing Shift. This keeps the width and height equal.
- Draw the inner circle.
Press L for the Ellipse tool, or choose the ellipse icon. Hold Shift while dragging a smaller circle inside the square. Aim for a circle about half the square's width.
- Adjust the spacing.
Press V for the Selection tool. Click the circle and drag it until the gaps on the left and right look equal, then check the top and bottom. Keep the shapes' visible outlines; color is optional.
- Save and reopen.
Choose File → Save or press Ctrl+S. Confirm the save dialog if shown and save as
geometric-badge.vectorcraft. Open a fresh VectorCraft tab from this page, use File → Open or Ctrl+O, and select the saved project. Use V to check that you can select each shape separately.
Check your work
- The outer shape is a square and the inner shape is a circle.
- The circle stays inside the square with roughly equal gaps on all sides.
- The reopened project still contains two separately selectable shapes.
Try one more: if the square were 100 mm wide and the circle 50 mm across, how wide would each side gap be? Duplicate the badge and try a different circle-to-square proportion.
If you get stuck
Click the artboard before using a tool shortcut. Press Escape to leave an active tool or dialog. Ctrl+Z undoes a step. If the circle hides the square, undo and draw a smaller circle inside it.
If your device blocks WebGL or the workspace does not load, try another supported browser or ask your teacher for a classroom computer. A phone is suitable for reading these directions; use a larger screen for drawing.
